Gene Payne / Music Mgr. / Founder / Baritone
Gene is a member of the “Original Dixie Melody Boys” organized in 1960.
Gene has been involved in several groups thru the years. Trailmasters Qt., Noblemen Qt., Kingswood Qt., all from Durham, North Carolina. Gene is recognized as one of the best harmony men in the business today. Gene and his wife Becky have four children and ten grand children.
Buck Riggs / Booking Mgr. Bass singer and MC for Southland Harmony Quartet.
Buck has sung with several groups over the years. He sang with Gene in Durham, North Carolina with “The Sonshine Boys” He was also the bass singer for the 1980 award winning group, The Crownsmen Qt. Buck later formed a country gospel group called The Apple Creek Band, that performed for over eleven years. Buck and his wife Glenda have one daughter Renee.
Barry Collins / Lead - Barry is a native of Burlington, NC. His family has been involved in southern gospel music since the 1950's. Barry is an active member of Harvest Baptist Church in Burlington. Barry has filled in at tenor for the Harvesters Quartet prior to coming with Southland Harmony Quartet. Barry and his wife Linda have two daughters and two grandchildren. Barry's goal is to see souls fed and saved through the music ministry of Southland Harmony Quartet.
Southland Harmony Quartet is bringing back the "Traditional Southern Gospel Music" .Southland Harmony's motto is: "Spreading The Gospel On Wings Of Song" in hope of reaching those who may not know Jesus as their personal saviour. Southland Harmony performs for all types of special events, church concerts and private functions.
Jon Strouse / Tenor - Jon started singing at age 13 when he and his two older brothers formed the Strouse Trio. He then spent 3 years traveling and singing with a Christian college quartet. After college, Jon served in church ministry for several years, leading worship, choir and special groups. In most recent years he has sung with Victory Road Quartet from Nashville, North Carolina and the Praise Quartet from Raleigh, North Carolina. Jon has been married to his college sweetheart since 1998, and has one son, born in 2005. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, he has lived in Raleigh, North Carolina since 2000.
